Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that choosing a manufacturing partner requires clarity and confidence. Our FAQs address common queries about pricing, quality, delivery timelines, quotations, and service support. Whether you're exploring our cost-effective solutions or need details on our processes, you'll find the answers here.
How does Survi offer pricing that is 75% lower than the U.S. and Chinese market?
At Survi, we optimize costs through efficient manufacturing processes, strategic sourcing, and lean operations. By leveraging advanced automation and minimizing overhead, we provide high-quality parts at a fraction of the typical market price—without compromising on precision or durability.
How does Survi ensure high-quality parts?
Quality is at the core of everything we do. We use cutting-edge technology, rigorous quality control processes, and skilled craftsmanship to meet and exceed industry standards. Every part undergoes thorough inspection to ensure precision, durability, and compliance with your specifications.
What is your typical lead time for orders?
Lead times vary based on the complexity and volume of the order, but we prioritize timely delivery. Most projects are completed within a few days to a couple of weeks. We work closely with our clients to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.
How quickly can I get a quotation?
We provide fast and accurate quotations, typically within 24 hours of receiving your request. For complex projects, we may require additional details, but we always strive for a quick turnaround.
What support do you offer after an order is placed?
We provide comprehensive service support before, during, and after production. Our team is available to address any concerns, assist with technical queries, and ensure a seamless experience from order placement to final delivery.
Which industries do you serve?
We cater to a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, medical, robotics, and consumer electronics. Whether you need prototyping or high-volume production, we have the expertise to deliver top-notch solutions.
Can you handle custom manufacturing requests?
Absolutely! We specialize in custom machining, sheet metal fabrication, 3D printing, injection molding, and more. Share your design requirements with us, and we'll create a tailored solution to meet your needs.
What file formats do you accept for quoting?
We accept STEP (.stp/.step), IGES (.igs), STL, OBJ, and DXF files for quoting. STEP is strongly preferred — it preserves geometry, tolerances and material information. PDF 2D drawings are also accepted alongside CAD files for tolerance callouts, surface finish specifications, and GD&T requirements.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our minimum order is 1 piece for prototypes — we do not require minimum order quantities. There is no maximum quantity; we produce from single prototypes to production runs of thousands of parts. Volume pricing applies automatically: 10–49 pieces (10% discount), 50–199 pieces (20% discount), 200+ pieces (contact us for a custom quote).
How do you protect my CAD files and design IP?
Your CAD files are used solely to generate your quote and manufacture your parts. Files are stored on secure servers and never shared with third parties. We are happy to sign a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before any file transfer. Contact [email protected] to request our standard NDA or send your own.
Can I get a quote without a CAD file?
Yes. Email your 2D drawing (PDF, DWG) or even a hand sketch with dimensions to [email protected] and our engineers will create a quote manually within 24 hours. For production orders, we recommend supplying a 3D CAD file (STEP preferred) to ensure accuracy.
What are your standard lead times?
Standard lead times from order confirmation to delivery at your door: Prototypes (1–10 pcs): 7–12 business days, Small production (10–100 pcs): 10–18 business days, Large production (100+ pcs): 15–25 business days. Rush service (3–5 business days in-factory) is available for an additional 30% surcharge on standard materials.
How do you ship internationally?
We ship via FedEx, DHL and UPS international express services with full tracking. Typical shipping times: USA/Canada 3–5 business days, Europe 2–4 business days, Australia/Singapore 3–5 business days. Customs duties and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
Do you handle customs documentation?
Yes. We prepare all standard export documentation: Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Material Test Certificates and, where required, MSDS sheets. For aerospace or defense parts, we provide EUC (End User Certificate) documentation on request.
What materials do you machine?
We machine a wide range of metals and plastics: Aluminium (6061, 7075, 2024, 5052), Stainless Steel (303, 304, 316, 17-4 PH), Carbon & Alloy Steel (1018, 4140), Titanium (Grade 2, Ti-6Al-4V), Brass & Copper (C360, C110), Engineering Plastics (PEEK, Delrin, Nylon, PTFE, UHMW-PE). Email [email protected] for custom alloy enquiries.
Do you provide material certifications?
Yes. Every order includes a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) verifying chemical composition and mechanical properties, and a Certificate of Conformance (CoC) confirming parts were manufactured to the specified drawing. For aerospace and medical parts, we maintain lot traceability records per AS9100 Rev D requirements.
What quality standards do you operate under?
We operate under ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. For aerospace and defense components we follow AS9100 Rev D practices including First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), material certification and lot traceability. Medical device components are manufactured under ISO 13485-aligned practices.
Do you perform CMM inspection?
Yes. CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspection is included for all parts with tolerances of ±0.025 mm or tighter, and available on request for all other parts at no additional charge for prototype quantities. We provide full dimensional inspection reports in PDF format alongside your delivery documentation.
What happens if my parts don't meet specifications?
We stand behind our work. If parts arrive out of specification or damaged in transit, we will re-machine and reship at no charge after reviewing the non-conformance. You have 14 days from delivery to report non-conformances (per our Refund Policy).
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Wire Transfer (SWIFT/IBAN) (preferred for large orders), PayPal (for international buyers), and Razorpay (credit/debit cards, UPI, net banking). Payment terms: Orders over USD 500 — 50% advance with PO, 50% prior to dispatch. Orders under USD 500 — full payment in advance.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. The quote you receive includes machining, finishing (as specified) and standard packaging. Additional charges apply only for international shipping (quoted separately), rush service surcharge (30% if requested), and post-shipment design changes that require rework. Customs duties and import taxes are the buyer's responsibility.
Why source CNC parts from India vs. the US or Europe?
India's manufacturing sector offers 40–70% cost savings on CNC machining versus equivalent US or European suppliers, while delivering the same material quality and tight tolerances. Survi Engineering specifically invests in advanced multi-axis CNC centres, rigorous QMS and experienced engineers — so you get the cost benefit of Indian manufacturing without the quality risk. See our Cost Savings Guide for a detailed breakdown.
Do you serve customers outside India?
Yes — over 70% of our customers are international. We regularly serve buyers in the United States, Canada, Germany, UK, Australia, Singapore and other countries. Our team is available by email and phone across time zones. Phone: +1 415 800 1593 | Email: [email protected]
